Born in Bangalore with Goan roots and based in Mumbai, Nikhil Pires' graduation film Nauha was an official selection at the Cannes Film Festival under the "La Cinef" category. He was also nominated for Best Cinematography at the Critics Choice Awards. Since then, he has worked on multiple commercials, music videos, narrative-shorts, and documentaries.

Drawing inspiration from the everyday, Nikhil creates visuals that are emotionally resonant and deeply connected to the characters.
